한국의 명확한 사계절은 다양한 레저활동을 가능하게 한다. 반면에 특정한 계절에 집중된 레저활동은 기후의 한계에 부딪힐 수 밖에 없다.
최근 한국에서 가장 각광받고 있는 숙박시설유형 중 하나인 Pool Villa도 동일한 문제를 겪고 있다. 물을 즐기기 위해 만들어지는 숙박시설이지만 기후적 한계때문에 외부 수영장(Pool)을 설치한 경우 일부계절은 운영을 하지 못하고 Pool을 내부에 가두어 내부에서만 사용하는 형태를 취하는 것이다. 그러나 가득한 햇살 속에서 즐기는 외부 Pool이 없는 Pool Villa는 그 공간적 매력을 상실하는 것이라고 할 수 있을 것이다.
Distinct four seasons in Korea enable a variety of leisure activities. On the other hand, the leisure activities concentrated in a specific season have no choice but to confront the limits of the climate.
Recently, the Pool Villa, one of the most popular accommodation types in Korea, is also experiencing the same problem. It is an accommodation built to enjoy waters, but due to climatic limitations, if an external pool is installed, it cannot be operated in some seasons, so it should take the form of using the pool only inside after locking it inside. However, we can say that the Pool Villa without an external pool to enjoy in full sunlight may lose its spatial charm.
‘사계절을 즐기는 Pool Villa’라는 목표로 티티카카는 외부와 내부에 각각 Pool을 가지는 한국형 리조트 객실의 형태를 제시한다. 계절과 날씨의 특성에 맞추어 티티카카에서는 외부와 내부에서 독립적으로 물을 즐길 수 있도록 하고 있다. 또한 특정한 계절에는 내부의 창호를 개방하여 외부와 내부의 Pool이 연계되어 사용될 수 있도록 하여 다양한 Activity가 일어날 수 있는 장치로서 기능하도록 의도되었다.
외부 Pool 옆에 배치된 Concrete Cavana는 동남아시아의 Pool Villa에서 사용되는 원형적인 기능을 유지한 채 형태와 재료를 콘트리트로 치환함으로써 한국의 기후에 대응하는 건축적 장치로 계획되었다. 특히 눈, 비와 여름의 강한햇살을 막아내는 건축적 장치로서 Pool Villa와 둘러싼 자연을 관조하는 객석처럼 작동할 것이다.
진입되는 도로에서의 외관은 창호를 배제하여 내부의 Privacy가 중요한 기능적 측면을 고려하였으며 내부에서는 외부 Pool 쪽으로 시각적, 촉각적 연계가 가능하도록 창호를 집중하여 계획하였다.
Pool이 위치한 중정에서는 산아래로 보이는 복잡한 일상의 풍경들을 걷어낸 채 원경만을 즐길 수 있도록 나무와 Concrete Cavana를 배치하였다.
With the goal of ‘Pool Villa to Enjoy the Four Seasons’, Titicaca suggests the form of a Korean-style resort room which has pools inside and outside, separately. In accordance with the characteristics of the season and weather, Titicaca allows you to enjoy waters independently both in the outside and inside. Furthermore, in certain seasons, the inside windows are opened so that the outside and inside pools can be used in connection with each other, thus which is intended to function as a device where various activities could be performed.
Concrete Cavana placed next to the external pool was planned as an architectural device to respond to the climate of Korea, by replacing its form and material with concrete with the original function used in the Southeast Asian Pool Villas maintained. In particular, as an architectural device to block snow, rain, and strong sunlight in summer, it may act as an auditorium to contemplate the Pool Villa and surrounding nature.
For the exterior from the access road, the functional aspect where the privacy of the interior is important was considered by excluding windows, whereas in the interior, planning windows was concentrated so as to enable a visual and tactile linkage toward the outside pool.
In the courtyard where the pool is located, trees and Concrete Cavana were arranged so that you might enjoy only the distant view while removing the complex daily-life scenery seen from the foot of the mountain.
